What is SMAS Facelift?

Cherie Group Medical can treat your sagging and wrinkled skin by tightening the muscular layer (SMAS)

The SMAS layer (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System), located between the subcutaneous fat layer and the muscular layer, is the outermost layer that covers muscles. Unlike traditional methods, this method that simply tighten the skin, an SMAS face lift tightens the SMAS layer which helps the skin become elastic from the inside. With this procedure, you can see noticeable and long-lasting effects.

Cherie Group Medical provides an advanced SMAS facial sculpting lift, instead of the traditional anti aging SMAS facelifting procedure.

rhinoplasty

Once you are ready for surgery, you will receive anesthesia, usually intravenous (IV) sedation and local anesthesia. Your face will be marked for the placement of the incisions. There is a cut at the temple above the hairline. It will run along the natural creases of the skin but will curve behind the ears. The tissues of the face, neck, and muscles under the skin are then lifted and rearranged into a higher position and the excess skin removed. The skin will be redrawn over the face and the incision will be closed with stitches. Most of the scars will be hidden in the normal layers of hair and skin.

The SMAS facelift procedure may take several hours, depending on the procedure. You will have a cap and drainage tubes after the procedure. Swelling, bruising and numbness should be expected. Discomfort for several weeks. You should be able to return to work in a few weeks. After healing is complete, exercise and daily activities can be resumed.
